About

Since April 11, 1995, the Filipino-American Student Association (FASA) has been promoting Filipino culture by educating Filipinos and Non-Filipinos alike at UB through participation in cultural events, performances, weekly general meetings and community service. FASA has grown tremendously over these past 20 years throughout the UB community, starting off with 16 members to now having over 100 active members. FASA is an organization that prides itself on its accomplishments and giving back to its members for their dedication. Along with this, FASA believes in the spirit of “bayanihan,” or the spirit of community, to make a difference striving for inclusivity amongst all. FASA has become more than just a club to the members but rather many consider it to be their home away from home, their second family, their “pamilya.”

Whenever possible, FASA reaches to people outside of the UB community by working with other Filipino clubs outside of the Buffalo area through its membership in District 4 and Filipino Intercollegiate Networking Dialogue (F.I.N.D).

FASA breaks barriers to collaborate with clubs of other cultural influence and other interests (Latin American, Vietnamese, Chinese, Breakdance, Martial Arts, to name a few). Just goes to show you, “you don’t have to be Filipino to join our club.”
