Buffalo Community Laboratory
About
The Buffalo Comm-Lab Club was established on the idea of bridging the gap between UB and institutionally neglected communities in Buffalo. The original Buffalo Community Laboratory proposal consisted of establishing a physical ‘Community Lab’ in Buffalo’s East Side to serve as a hub for students and residents to interact. The center would concentrate existing UB student-community engagement infrastructure, implement new student-community initiatives, and introduce all students to social justice actions that will prepare them as future change-agents, while fostering meaningful relationships between students and Buffalonians.
As a student club in its first year, we’re more focused on enacting meaningful change and assisting Buffalo's communities now… while keeping the vision of the Community Laboratory alive.
The Buff Comm-Lab Club is a space where students learn & discuss social justice issues/solutions, gain community service experience with local nonprofits/service orgs, & gain practical experience organizing & advocating for increased UB student-community engagement infrastructure.
