Chinese Students and Scholars Association
About
Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) is one of the largest international clubs at SUNY-Buffalo.
CSSA aims to obtain Chinese students, scholars, and other students who are interested in Chinese culture to get involved in various Chinese cultural events.
Our signature events include the Mid-autumn festival, Spring festival, and Chinese Cultural Expo. Our goal is to strengthen Chinese cultural exchanges with the UB community, increase cultural diversity, and help out far away from home students.
CSSA has around 150 current members during each term, and more than 90% of Chinese Students and Scholars at Buffalo are connected to CSSA.
CSSA was established in the early 1980s when a rapidly increasing amount of Chinese students and scholars pursued their studies abroad under the open policy of the Chinese government. Its executive board is established through annual elections by all members.
CSSA's membership is open to all students at UB. Each year, roughly 2000 students from China are studying in different programs at UB, and more than 200 visiting scholars are working here.
We look forward to providing services to you. Any comments and suggestions are appreciated.
