Gamma Sigma Alpha National Honor Society
About
A group of scholastic achievers at the University of Southern California, representing various Greek fraternities and sororities, joined together to create an organization dedicated to the advancement of higher education and academic accomplishment. The Alpha Chapter of Gamma Sigma was founded on November 9, 1989, as a result of this student effort.
Students are eligible for membership based on grade point average and membership in a Greek fraternity or sorority. The Society strives to uphold the high ideals of scholastic achievement and therefore, only students with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) at the start of their junior year or a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in any semester during their junior or senior year are eligible.
The University at Buffalo chapter, Gamma Beta, was founded on April 10, 1995 and re-colonized April 23, 2010 after many years of inactivity. Students who are selected are among the most academically successful subset of the UB Greek population.
