Mock Trial
About
UB Mock Trial offers students the unique opportunity to travel and compete against universities from across the country. We prepare both the prosecution/plaintiff and defense sides to a fictional case created by the American Mock Trial Association. In a typical round of Mock Trial, we face off against another school with opening statements, direct and cross examinations, and closing statements, all aspects of a real-life trial. Through Mock Trial, students can expect to strengthen communication, public speaking, and critical thinking skills while at the same time, learn federal rules of evidence and courtroom etiquette. UB Mock Trial is a welcoming group that has helped foster a close-knit community on campus. Students of all majors, from engineering and pharmacy to political science and theater have joined Mock Trial. Anyone is welcome!
