The Orthopedic Interest Group (OIG) aims to increase student and community understanding of orthopedics.
The organization hosts dinner lectures and demonstrations that provide information on advances and research in the field. Members can network with practitioners and participate in discussions of current issues and developing techniques.
Dinner lectures feature talks by current physicians, fellows and residents as well as demonstrations of orthopedic techniques.
Previous lecturers have included:
- Michael Ferrick, MD, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in pediatric orthopedics, scoliosis and sports medicine
- Christopher Mutty, MD, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in trauma and joint replacement
- Brian McGrath, MD, an orthopedic oncologist
Who Can Participate?
OIG events are open to anyone considering orthopedics as a career, or anyone who wants to further his or her understanding of orthopedics.
