About
The Physics Graduate Student Association (PGSA) exists under the authority of the Graduate Student Association (GSA) in order to provide collective representation for all students enrolled in an advanced physics degree at the University at Buffalo SUNY.
Representing physics graduate students within the UB community at large are two elected PGSA Board Memebers (previously known as Senators) that exercise voting privileges within the GSA Senate. Additionally the PGSA Executive Committee acts as a liaison to the UB Physics Department, creating a centralized, unbiased and secure environment for individual physics graduate students to voice any grievances that they may have without fear of repercussion.
Funding for the PGSA is provided based on membership numbers by the GSA with a portion of requisite dues collected by the GSA. Additional funding and support is often provided by the UB Physics Department to host events which foster a sense of community between Physics Faculty/Staff and Graduate Students.
