S4GIFT

S4GIFT is a group dedicated to increasing awareness for organ, eye, tissue, and blood donation, as well as Be The Match bone marrow registry. We partner with ConnectLife, the organ procurement organization of the Buffalo area, to participate in community involvement, including bone blood drives and outreach to local high schools. Events include a JSMBS team walking in the annual Buffalo Donate Life walk in September and a lunch seminar with a panel of speakers affected by organ donation, including donor families, organ transplant recipients, and transplant surgeons. We are working on arranging shadowing opportunities in transplant surgery and transplant nephrology at ECMC.
