Sigma Chi Omega
About
Since 1999 we have initiated over 200 brothers, and Sigma Chi Omega has become an identifiable brotherhood that has perpetuated itself in an attempt to improve the Greek system and to serve as a reputable and upright member of the community. Over a decade later, our brotherhood continues to set an example here at the University at Buffalo so that we may differentiate ourselves as the most exceptional and closest social fraternity on campus.
The ideals of Sigma Chi Omega, which are as true today as they were in the beginning, are based on Friendship, Justice and Learning. The Fraternity prides itself on its ability to create leaders of men. Our brothers have held and currently hold influential positions throughout the university, including the Student Government Association, athletic clubs, Inter-Fraternity Council and Inter-Greek Council, to name a few. Brothers graduate having developed and applied strong leadership and problem solving skills that are in high demand in the real world. They apply these skills working for firms such as General Electric, M&T Bank, Moog, Chase and Goodyear among many others.
Since inception, Sigma Chi Omega has developed strong ties with Sororities and other on-campus organizations, as well as off-campus non-for-profit organizations. Our success through philanthropic opportunities such as the Buffalo News’ Kids Day as well as the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life has allowed us to fulfill our commitment to the community beyond the University at Buffalo.
We have continued our successes through the dedication of every single brother over the years. Our brothers come from all backgrounds and continue on after college in all different fields of work. We pride ourselves on not being an exclusive fraternity. Instead, we welcome diversity, as we believe each and every brother applies respective experiences to help create a stronger brotherhood year after year.
